3D Blender Artist | Children’s book fanatic | Creative Generalist

Currently focused on low-poly 2000s style video game animations.

I’m a visual storyteller with a love for multimedia artwork and training in a wide variety of creative skills; I can mimic many styles and adapt to the needs of each project I take on. I’m primarily a 3D generalist looking for work in the games and animation sector- I can fit any part of an animation pipeline. I’m highly motivated by collaborative work and love a chance to connect with fellow creatives.

Hi there! I’m Belle Wallis

Soon to be graduate of BA Illustration at AUB 2024.

I’ve been told I have the portfolio of a collective of artists rather than just one- with specialities in character design, creature design, storytelling, concept art, storyboarding, animatics, Blender modelling, texturing, lighting, and so much more! I pride myself on my ability to adapt to any role that a company needs, whether that’s directing a team for a project or focusing on the minute finishing details to perfect someone else’s project.

With an expertise in weird-cute content creation (my dissertation being written on contemporary creepy-cute aesthetics) and a passion for storytelling in every kind of medium, I’m keen to get my hands on any kind of story-based creative work that comes my way. After a lifetime of video-game and animation obsession I’ve gained a love for rich world-building and narrative focused plot design with loveable but believable characters. I’m a true jack of all trades that can excell in any role I’m given.

I grew up in the Cheshire countryside; nature played a big role in my youth and continues to be a subject of fascination in my artwork. My brother came out as transgender when I was young, and being queer myself has meant that my work often comes from a very queer perspective. I like animal characters for the androgyny they bring, and I’d like to create work that is gender blind as often as I can. I’m passionate about respectful LGBT representation in media, but most essentially I am passionate about queer represenation that is interesting and genuine.

I have spent the last five years living in the grimey parts of Bournemouth; this has influenced my depictions of grotty but mundane city life- above all else I aim to create a sense of reality in my work, to tell real people’s stories and show real aspects of every day life with gentle humour. I believe a good story tells unspoken truths about our own lives, and a really good story can have a laugh about it.
